Privacy Policy
The short version
- PocketFrame stores the photos you choose and a few account details so your slideshows work and follow you to a new phone.
- Your photos are private. Only you can see them.
- There are no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. We never sell your information.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are
PocketFrame is developed and operated by Christian Taggart, an individual based in the United States ("we", "us"). If you have any question about this policy or your information, email pocketframedev@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
We collect only what the app needs to work.
Account details
- Your email address, used to sign you in and to send you the codes that confirm it's you.
- A display name, which you choose.
- A profile picture, if you choose to add one.
Sign-in with Google, Facebook or Apple
If you sign in with one of these, that company shares your name, email address and profile picture with us so we can create your account. We never see or store your password for that service. What they collect about you is governed by their own privacy policies.
Your photos
When you add photos to a slideshow, the app asks your permission to read your photo library, then copies the photos you selected to our storage so they can play on your phone and follow you to a new one. Photos are reduced in size before they are uploaded. We only ever copy the photos you choose; we do not scan or upload the rest of your library.
Slideshow settings
The names of your slideshows, which photos are in them, and how you like them to play.
Technical information
Like any online service, the servers that run PocketFrame keep routine records of requests, which include your device's internet address and the time of the request. These are used only to keep the service running and secure.
What we do not collect
PocketFrame does not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools of any kind. We do not collect your location, your contacts, or anything from your photo library other than the photos you pick.
3. How we use your information
- To sign you in and keep you signed in.
- To store your slideshows and play them back to you, on any phone you sign in on.
- To email you a verification code when you sign up, sign in a new way, or change your email or password.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To keep the service secure and working.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it or rent it to anyone.
4. Who can see your information
Your photos are private. They are stored so that only your own account can read them. We do not look at your photos, except where you ask us to help with a problem or where the law requires it.
We rely on a small number of service providers to run PocketFrame. They process your information only on our behalf and only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase, which hosts our database, stores your photos, and handles sign-in.
- Resend, which delivers the verification emails we send you.
- Google, Facebook or Apple, only if you choose to sign in with one of them.
We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have a PocketFrame account. When you delete your account, your photos and account details are deleted. Copies that exist in our service providers' routine backups are removed on their normal schedule.
6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, under Profile. This removes your photos, your slideshows and your account details. You do not need to contact us to do it, though you are welcome to email us if you would rather we did it for you.
7. Security
Your information travels between your phone and our servers over an encrypted connection, and your photos are stored so that no other user can reach them. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you entrust to us.
8. Children
PocketFrame is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
9. Your choices and rights
You can see and change your name, email address and profile picture inside the app. You can delete individual photos, whole slideshows, or your entire account at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to receive a copy of it. If you are a California resident, you have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined in that law, and we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights. To make a request, email pocketframedev@gmail.com from the address on your account, and we will respond within the time the law allows.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
11. Contact
Email pocketframedev@gmail.com. We read everything.
