Terms of Service
The short version
- Your photos stay yours. You only give us permission to store them and show them back to you.
- Use the app for what it's for, and don't upload anything you don't have the right to.
- The app is provided as it is. We'll do our best, but we can't promise it will never go wrong.
- You can stop using PocketFrame and delete your account at any time.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Christian Taggart, an individual based in the United States, who develops and operates PocketFrame ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use PocketFrame.
2. Who can use PocketFrame
You must be at least 13 years old to use PocketFrame. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
3. Your account
You need an account to use PocketFrame, so your slideshows can follow you to a new phone. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and let us know if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
4. Your photos and content
You own your photos. Nothing in these terms takes that away. So that the app can work, you give us permission to store the photos you add, to reduce their size for upload, and to show them back to you on the phones you sign in on. That permission ends when you delete a photo, a slideshow, or your account, other than for copies in routine backups that are removed on their normal schedule.
Only upload photos you have the right to use. Don't upload anything that is illegal, that you don't own or have permission for, or that would harm someone else.
5. Using the app properly
Please don't:
- use PocketFrame for anything illegal;
- try to reach another person's photos or account;
- interfere with the service, overload it, or try to get around its limits or security;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app.
6. The service
PocketFrame is currently free to use. We may add paid features in the future, and we will tell you clearly what costs money before you're charged anything. We may change or improve the app over time, and we may have to pause it for maintenance.
7. Ending things
You can stop using PocketFrame whenever you like, and you can delete your account from inside the app under Profile, which removes your photos and data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is harming the service or other people. If we ever discontinue PocketFrame, we will give you reasonable notice so you can keep your photos.
8. No warranties
PocketFrame is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to make it reliable, but we can't promise that it will always be available, error-free or secure, or that your photos will never be lost. Keep your own copies of photos that matter to you. PocketFrame is a way to display your photos, not a backup service.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, photos or profits, arising from your use of PocketFrame. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in that state, and you agree to their jurisdiction. Before going to court, we'd ask you to email us first so we can try to sort things out.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use PocketFrame after that means you accept the new terms.
